Bon Odori 2016

Bon Odori which means Obon or Bon dance is a Japanese folk dance showing appreciation to the spirits of the ancestors which is a way to also welcome the spirits of the dead.
Malaysia's Bon Odori mainly gives the exposure of Japanese culture in terms of art and dance, Japanese food and drinks and also tons of Japanese companies promoting their products.

This is my second time attending Bon Odori Festival. The last time I attended this festival was way back in 2001. 15 years have past and now I actually feel the experience. I love how most people are dressed in their Yukata, a Japanese garment to dress for this very occasion. Maybe I should wear it one day to give myself a full experience on the festival. The men seems to look very manly in it whereas the women look super feminine, they look so beautiful!

Festival vibe is here and my camera is out! Here are some pictures that I took:

Thank you for reading today's post!

Photography Adventure in KL with Dinie and Kah Chun

Kah Chun, Dinie and I decided to take a stroll around KL with our respective cameras and take pictures of people of Kuala Lumpur or anything at all.  We were pretty free to experiment on anything we want whilst in the city.
Though there were tons of pictures to be taken around KL, we still had a creative block.
I had in mind how I want my pictures to be taken and how I want it to be edited.
My idea was to go for the soft cinematic look.
I've gathered a lot of inspiration from the internet especially on Instagram and study how people take their pictures and how they turn their photos "cinematic" like.
I definitely experimented my edits for a very long time.
I experimented on a good software app and what lens to use.
It took me some time to figure it out.
Slowly I'm learning more on photography and so far I'm happy and still I give myself room for improvement.

Here are the pictures I took. (Unless a picture of me, I had the help of Kah Chun/Dinie to take with the camera) :

Friendly Taxi driver deserves his picture taken!

He was posing for a photo so why not!

Photo ready!

Love how people in KL are always ready to have their picture taken
